On 27-28 May 2015 the 19th Annual Meeting of the Swedish Neutron Scattering Society (SNSS-19) will be organized at KTH Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm, Sweden. This meeting collects the main part of the Swedish neutron community along with several international experts. Representatives from the European Spallation Source (ESS) will attend and give a status update for the source as well as the instrument development.
An important part of this meeting is also to attract new Swedish neutron users and we will have a series of topical lectures giving introduction to a series of neutron techniques with examples on how neutron can be useful for different areas of research. The meeting will also start on the morning May 27 with an introductory lecture where the basics of neutron scattering is presented. Consequently, we strongly encourage researchers without any previous neutron experience to join our meeting!
At SNSS-19 a special delegation from the French Neutron Scattering Society (SFN) will also attend the meeting in order to strengthen French-Swedish collaboration on neutron scattering. Another special focus for this meeting is discussion regarding industrial involvement in development as well as utilization of modern neutron sources. Here experiences and project examples are shared by representatives from three of the world's most recent and powerful spallation sources: SNS at Oak Ridge National Labs. in USA and ISIS in UK and the Swiss Spallation Neutron Source (SINQ).

In addition to the main SNSS meeting, KTH & ESS are also co-organizing a special kick-off colloquium for "Science Using Neutrons" on May 26, in lecture hall E2 at 15:00-17:00. Afterwards there will be neutron-mingle with light food and drinks. More information is found in The SNSS-19 program.
