Industrial pilot projects for neutron and photon experiments in large scale research infrastructures
In this call notice, Vinnova announces their financial support for pilot projects that build expertise on industrial utilization of advanced experimental environments similar to those developed at MAX IV and ESS in Lund. The work in the project should verify if and how neutron or photo technique is suitable for meeting a company's problems or development needs.
Through financing of demand-driven pilot projects, Vinnova wants to strengthen Swedish competence in how industrial innovation can benefit from large-scale research infrastructures for neutron and phototechnics. The announcement allows experiments at both Swedish and international research infrastructures for neutron and phototechnics.
What can you apply for?
The work in the project should verify how neutron or photo technique is suitable for meeting a company's problems or development needs.
Who can apply?
Research and development groups of companies, research organizations or other legal entities.
How much can you apply for?
- The total budget for the announcement is 15 million SEK.
- Each project can search for a maximum of 500,000 SEK in contributions.
- Maximum project time is 12 months.

During the call period applications are collected and assessed on two different occasions:
First assessment
Applications submitted to Vinnova are evaluated by August 31st, 2018, at 14.00.
Date of decision: 5 October 2018
Project start: October 15, 2018
Second assessment
Applications are submitted to Vinnova by October 12th, 2018, at 14.00.
Date of decision: November 15, 2018
Project start: November 26, 2018
