Privacy Policy

In accordance with GDPR, the following details the privacy policy of the Swedish Neutron Scattering Society (SNSS).

What personal data we collect and why we collect it

Comments

As visitors cannot leave comments on the site, we do not collect data in this way.

Contact forms

There are currently two forms that collect information on the user on this website: the contact form and the membership form.

The contact form saves the given name and e-mail address of the user, for the purpose of replying to said user via e-mail. For this reason, we do not save this user information outside of our contact@snss.se mailbox, where the e-mail will be archived. If you wish for your e-mail, along with your name and e-mail address, to be removed, kindly send us an e-mail and we will delete any e-mail with your contact information.

The membership form saves the first and last name, e-mail address, and affiliation (optional) of the user. As our membership records are managed through MailChimp, this is where the user information is stored. By submitting the form, the user acknowledges that the information provided will be transferred to MailChimp for processing in accordance with their Privacy Policy and Terms. If you wish to cancel your membership, kindly send us an e-mail or unsubscribe in the newsletter.

Cookies

If you have an account and you log in to this site, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select "Remember Me", your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.

If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie includes no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after 1 day.

Embedded content from other websites

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracing your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

Analytics

We currently do not track our website visitors with any analytics tools. If this changes, information about this will be added to this page as well as the cookie consent form visible to first-time visitors.

Who we share your data with

We do not share your data with anyone apart from MailChimp (read "Contact Forms").

How long we retain your data

For users that register on our website, we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their own personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

What rights you have over your data

If you have an account on this site, or if you are a member with information stored on MailChimp, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
